Create Your Own Transformation

butterfly transformation with quote

This weekend, we went to Tyler Arboretum to celebrate the annual release of their monarch butterflies. We walked through the butterfly house and witnessed all the stages from caterpillar to butterfly and it reminded me of the tremendous growth that we go through in our lives. A caterpillar transforms into a butterfly just once, but we transform again and again.

We don’t always notice the transformation until we look back, but we almost always notice the inevitable struggle that comes first. We often feel trapped in the cocoon of our circumstances and if we pay enough attention, we can witness the feeling of cracking open, of becoming a new and more powerful version of ourselves.

Transformation can seem scary and intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, it’s the most natural thing that we can do. If you think back to any moment in your past, you’ll likely realize quickly that you are not the same person anymore. Of course, pieces of that version of yourself are still with you because they are part of your story, but how you define yourself has probably changed. You are not the same person you were as a young child, as a teenager, as a young adult, and so on.

The transformation from womanhood to motherhood is a powerful one and it is a time that can benefit from preparation and support. Just as the caterpillar eats the milkweed to prepare for it’s time in the cocoon, so to can you prepare for becoming a fertile woman growing a baby and giving birth to both your baby and your mother self.

Here’s how to transform yourself with ease and empowerment:
