Fresh and Local Here We Come!

For the last few years we have been frequenting our local farmers markets on a semi-regular basis.  It’s been great to talk to the people who grow the food, get to know them a bit, and walk away with some of the freshest food we’ve ever eaten!

This year we finally joined a C.S.A. (Community Supported Agriculture) and I am so excited! We paid in advance, and each week we’ll get to pick up a box of fresh organic veggies based on what the farm has that week.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to try some new foods, and best of all, to support my local farmers.

We’ve chosen Wimer’s Organics this year but there are many to choose from, all over the country.  We’ll still make it to our local farmers markets to supplement our supply I’m sure, so we’ll keep our connection in person as well.

Check back here in a month or so, as I plan to write about what we do with the food each week – and expect pictures!

Happy eating!
