Lentils are a wonderful choice for a nutrient dense addition to your diet, especially during pregnancy.  They are high in protein, iron, folate and dietary fiber, which are all key nutrients that you need to have ample supplies of during pregnancy.


Lentils are a great bean to cook with because hey do not need to be soaked and they cook quickly.  You can create a quick and nutritious meal by serving lentils with brown rice and kale.  You can substitute any whole grains or dark leafy greens that you love.
