We’ve been without sunshine for at least 4 days, and it’s taking a toll on me.
My husband has a bad cold and I’m doing what I can to keep Chloe and myself healthy (water, more mama milk for Chloe than usual, rest, probiotics and tea to name a few).
I woke up this morning feeling fine. I made us some breakfast, made some tea, and sat down to eat. Oomph. The tired feeling, that feeling you get when you did a bit too much too fast on what should be a slow and lazy day, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I thought of my long to-do list, both personal and work (this blog was on there, and it was going to be about something else). I looked outside, where the fog was still lingering, and all I wanted to do was curl up on the couch and watch TV.
So I did.
Sometimes, even when we have other things to do, we have to take care of ourselves first.
This can be hard for us, putting aside the to-do list and settling in for an episode of a favorite show. I know it is for me.
But I knew that if I sat down at the computer right then, nothing would happen. I would feel crummy, tired, cranky, and not much would get done anyway.
By giving myself the space to be, to take care of me, I fell into my own personal flow.
Some work, along with relaxation, came out of that flow. It’s all about learning when we need to let go.
What can you let go of today to create some space for you?
I’d love to hear, so let me know in the comments below.
