Smoothies are a simple and easy way to pack yourself full of fresh and healthy foods as you prepare your body for a healthy conception and pregnancy.
Here’s how I started my morning (it was just too good not to share with you!).

Peace, Love, and Wellness,
I would totally drink that NOT preggo! Sounds yummy and SOO healthy!
Stephanie, that’s the beauty of all these healthy habits – they benefit us all the time!
Wish I knew about smoothies when I was pregnant! Sounds delicious!
Gina,
When I was pregnant and in the early days of nursing smoothies became my calorie and nutrient sources. I remember they sometimes got up to 900 calories! Coconut cream and avocado helped with that. It was great to know I was feeding my body and my baby and doing it in a way that felt simple.
Looks delicious and so packed full of healthy foods!
Thanks Becky! It was a great way to use some farmer’s market fresh spinach!
I am not a healthy smoothie drinker, but I know I should become one.
Janeane,
What do you think is holding you back from becoming one? What would if feel like if you could release that and nourish yourself in this way?
Yum! My kids and I love smoothies, never thought of putting flax in them!
Whenever I put leafy greens in my smoothies–like spinach or especially kale–the leaves never really blend and it’s more like a gazpacho kind of. Is that how it’s supposed to be, or do I need to blend for longer, or what? I wonder if I should blend for longer, but I just hate the loud noise, so 10 sec or so is plenty for my ears.
Becky,
Great question! I use a Vitamix so I never have that problem You can get a refurbished one at a great price with free shipping here: https://secure.vitamix.com/Certified-Reconditioned-Products.aspx?COUPON=06-006537.
If that’s not an option for you, you could try to find another higher power blender or try chopping up the greens really small before adding them to your smoothie.
Another great option (though not as fresh) is to add green powder to your smoothies. Here’s my favorite: http://ow.ly/oOvcO
