      Gina,
When I was pregnant and in the early days of nursing smoothies became my calorie and nutrient sources. I remember they sometimes got up to 900 calories! Coconut cream and avocado helped with that. It was great to know I was feeding my body and my baby and doing it in a way that felt simple.

      Janeane,
What do you think is holding you back from becoming one? What would if feel like if you could release that and nourish yourself in this way?

Whenever I put leafy greens in my smoothies–like spinach or especially kale–the leaves never really blend and it’s more like a gazpacho kind of. Is that how it’s supposed to be, or do I need to blend for longer, or what? I wonder if I should blend for longer, but I just hate the loud noise, so 10 sec or so is plenty for my ears.

      Becky,

Great question! I use a Vitamix so I never have that problem You can get a refurbished one at a great price with free shipping here: https://secure.vitamix.com/Certified-Reconditioned-Products.aspx?COUPON=06-006537.

If that’s not an option for you, you could try to find another higher power blender or try chopping up the greens really small before adding them to your smoothie.

Another great option (though not as fresh) is to add green powder to your smoothies. Here’s my favorite: http://ow.ly/oOvcO
